
The statewide unemployment rate is down a bit… despite an overall decrease in the number of payroll jobs across Illinois in March. The jobless rate slipped one-tenth of one-percent last month, down to four-point-six percent.
The state lost 21-hundred jobs in March… but the three-month average and year-to-year job numbers are up. State officials say both the unemployment rate and the number of Illinoisans without jobs are at their lowest levels in more than a decade.
