Sinclair Broadcasting Promo Raising Concerns [VIDEO]

The controversy over statements being aired on Sinclair Broadcasting stations around the country including NewsChannel 20 in Springfield has now drawn the attention of U.S. Senator Dick Durbin.

Durbin wants answers from Sinclair on whether it requires its local stations to recite corporate talking points, and whether local staffers face penalties for failing to do so.

Durbin contends that Sinclair executives told his staff last year that the company does not dictate the words or content delivered by local reporters.

WMAY News reached out to an executive at NewsChannel 20, but he declined to comment.
