Some Springfield Sewers to Receive New Liners

The agency that oversees Springfield’s sewer system will be re-lining some of those sewers during the month of March. The Sangamon County Water Reclamation District says the new liners will extend the service life of those pipes by up to 50 years.

The work will be done in Southern View, Laketown, Grandview, and the area from 11th Street east to the railroad tracks between Stevenson and Stanford.

Homeowners will be notified of the work, and may not be able to use dishwashers or washing machines for several hours during times when crews are in their immediate area.
