
It’s another Fourth of July safety reminder… but it has nothing to do with fireworks. State health officials want you to be careful with family gatherings and picnics… to make sure that food is handled safely and you take steps to avoid contamination that can lead to food poisoning.
That includes keeping cold items cold and making sure meat on the grill is properly and thoroughly cooked. It also means keeping raw meat and poultry separate from produce and other items during food storage and preparation.
