Two big donations will help the Central Illinois Foodbank get fresh produce to where it is needed most.
The Morgan Stanley Foundation is giving $50,000 for the purchase of equipment to assist with the transport of fresh produce items to areas in the Foodbank’s 21-county region where “food insecurity” is above average.
Isringhausen Imports is also donating a used van that will be retrofitted with refrigeration to assist with the program, which will formally get underway in August.
