
A bipartisan group of Illinois lawmakers is vowing to work together on policies to promote and protect the health of children.
It’s welcome news for the chief of pediatrics at the SIU School of Medicine. Doctor Doug Carlson says that while 95-percent of Illinois children currently have health care coverage, uncertainty over the Affordable Care Act, the federal Children’s Health Insurance Program, and Medicaid could change that and make it harder for many kids to get the care they need.
