
Two Illinois lawmakers have delivered nearly 5,000 petition signatures to Governor Bruce Rauner… urging him to drop a legal challenge and allow medical marijuana to be used to treat intractable pain.
A court ordered it added to the list of conditions that can be treated with medical marijuana, over the objection of the state Department of Public Health.
Now the department is appealing that ruling. But Senator Heather Steans and Representative Kelly Cassidy say marijuana is a safer pain remedy than prescription opioids.
