Governor Bruce Rauner is still insisting that his previous budget proposals were balanced… a claim that has been rated “Pants on Fire” by the PolitiFact fact checking service.
Rauner has repeated that claim several times to reporters this week.
In Decatur, reporters asked Rauner about his own budget proposal from last year… which included a single line of more than $4 billion to be resolved by “working on a grand bargain,” a deal which did not come together. Rauner told them… quote… “I’m not familiar with that.”
