Another major retailer is closing stores around the country… but Springfield is dodging this latest bullet. Toys R Us says it will close more than 180 stores around the country this spring, including seven in Illinois.
But the Springfield store will remain open, and so will the Babies R Us location right next door. The move is aimed at streamlining Toys R Us as the company tries to emerge from bankruptcy protection.
