Most new and vacant state jobs would have to be located in Sangamon County… unless there’s a really good reason not to. That’s under legislation being introduced by State Representative Sara Wojcicki Jimenez.
She’s been pushing to recover jobs that have been relocated away from the Capital City in recent years.
Her bill would require state officials to demonstrate a need for a job to be based in another part of the state, or otherwise it would have to be placed in the Springfield area
