U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth is going to make history this spring.
Duckworth announced Tuesday that she is pregnant and due in late April. That will make her the first sitting U.S. Senator ever to give birth while in office.
Duckworth is also one of only ten women to give birth while serving in the House, when her daughter was born in 2014. Her second child, also a girl, is due just weeks after Duckworth’s 50th birthday.
