Rauner to Check Into Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy

For weeks he’s been expressing confidence in how the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy has handled an outbreak of Legionnaires’ Disease extending over three years.

Now Governor Bruce Rauner is putting that confidence into action. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Rauner has checked himself in to the veterans home in Quincy to demonstrate that he believes it is safe to stay there.

He plans to stay there for several nights. The administration has come under scrutiny because cases of the potentially-deadly bacteria continue to resurface despite major renovations to the home’s water supply.
