Candidate for Governor Daiber In Favor of Graduated Income Tax for State

Another Democratic candidate for governor is coming out in favor of a graduated income tax for the state. The plan from Madison County regional school superintendent Bob Daiber would lower tax rates for Illinoisans making less than $150,000 a year.

Those between $150,000 and a million would see their state tax rate stay the same, and those making over a million dollars a year would see their tax rate go up.

Any move to a graduated tax would require an amendment to the Illinois Constitution.
