Fireworks have been frozen out of this year’s First Night Springfield.
A big downtown fireworks display had been scheduled for Sunday evening as part of the annual New Year’s Eve celebration. But with temperatures expected to be well below zero, organizers say they will postpone the display and reschedule it for warmer weather.
The rest of the event will go on as planned.
