
Nearly as many Illinoisans signed up for health care coverage under the Affordable Care Act this year as those who did so last year… even though this year’s enrollment period was shorter and there is more uncertainty about the future of the law.
Nearly 340,000 people signed up for coverage in the period that ended December 15th… compared to 356,000 who signed up a year ago in an enrollment window that extended to the end of January.
Health care advocates say the numbers show that people want the kind of coverage that the controversial law offers.
