Jimenez Reaction To Alabama Election Results Angers Illinois Republicans

Many Democrats are celebrating the defeat of Roy Moore in Alabama’s special U.S. Senate election and so is at least one local Republican.

State Representative Sara Wojcicki Jimenez posted a reaction on Facebook, stating simply, “Character matters,” with a hashtag #NoMoore.

The post drew comments of support but also sparked an angry reaction from some Republicans, including from Steven Westerfield, one of two Republicans who has filed for the seat that Jimenez is vacating.

She decided not to seek re-election next year.
