Illinois’s upcoming bicentennial is being commemorated with a postage stamp.
The U.S. Postal Service says the bicentennial stamp is one of a number of new designs being unveiled. It features an outline of the state of Illinois with a rising sun and a caption that reads “Illinois 1818.”
A formal dedication of the new stamp is planned, but details have not yet been released.
