State Lawmakers Trying to Remove State From Crosscheck Program

After the State Board of Elections failed, on a tie vote, to remove Illinois from a controversial voter-verification system, some state lawmakers say they will try to force the change.

Democrats led by State Senator Kwame Raoul are pushing legislation to require Illinois to leave the multi-state Crosscheck program.

They say Crosscheck is susceptible to hackers and can be used to throw legitimate voters off the rolls and suppress votes for political purposes.
