Springfield teachers will be getting some extra money under a new contract approved Monday.
Both the union and the school board ratified the two-year deal, marking the first time in several years that a multi-year agreement was reached.
Teachers will receive a raise of one-quarter of one-percent in the first year, and one-half of one-percent in the second year… along with step and longevity increases based on years of service. The district will pay over $4 million more in teachers’ salaries over the two-year life of the contract.
