The Fat Ass 5K & Street Party for Charity was invented on a napkin at Celtic Mist Pub on St. Patrick’s Day in 2008.
We are a professionally timed 5K race through Downtown Springfield, Illinois. We have donated over $1,000,000 since 2008. The race includes beer, corn dog, donut, and ice cream stops along with live music and entertainment throughout the race route. The 5K is followed by a street party that includes cold Pepsi, Coors beer, barbecue and more live music. All profits go to charity. Please help us continue supporting our charities in 2018.
With all profits, we make grants to various charitable organizations. Past recipients include The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Alport Syndrome Foundation, Mini O’Bierne Crisis Nursery, St. Patrick’s School, Operation Smile, Camp Coco, SPARC Summer Camp and many more.
