Public sector unions are criticizing the Rauner administration’s actions in the wake of this week’s Supreme Court decision in Janus v. AFSCME. The administration set up a website for state workers to go with questions about union status… including a section called “Change Union Membership Status” and a discussion of what it means to entirely opt out of the union.
The unions say the website goes beyond information for “fair share” employees… who don’t need to do anything to have those payments stopped… and crosses the line into encouraging workers to abandon the union.
