Unions React to the Janus Ruling

Unions representing government workers and teachers are vowing that they will not be silenced, despite the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that could dramatically reduce their power.

AFSCME, the Illinois Education Association, the Illinois Federation of Teachers and others all argue that the Janus case is part of a long-term effort to give workers less of a voice in both the workplace and the political arena. The unions say they will fight to retain members and push for policies to protect workers’ interests.
