Rauner Speaks on Janus Ruling

Governor Bruce Rauner calls the Supreme Court ruling in Janus v. AFSCME a victory for state workers… and a victory for taxpayers.

The governor says the state will immediately move to notify union employees of their rights and will stop deducting fair share fees from members who have opted out of full union membership.

He also says the state will support any fair share employees who want to become full-fledged union members. Rauner says the ruling will reduce conflicts of interest that he says have given unions too much power at the expense of taxpayers.
