
It was a shining beacon for generations of travelers along Route 66. And now the iconic neon sign for the old “Tropics” lounge in Lincoln has been restored and illuminated, just feet from where it stood for decades.
The Tropics closed 15 years ago, but the sign stayed onsite until 2014, when it was finally removed and stored.
But a fundraising effort allowed the sign to be restored and re-lit. It was dedicated Sunday night in Lincoln.
