Springfield’s Catholic Bishop is urging government leaders in Washington to find a resolution soon to the divisive issue of separating children from parents when families cross the border illegally.
Bishop Thomas John Paprocki is less outspoken on the issue than many of his colleagues in the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, which calls the policy “immoral.”
Paprocki this week is hosting what he says is the first “faith-based” hockey camp in Springfield. Paprocki… whose nickname is “The Holy Goalie”… is teaching kids hockey skills while also working on issues like teamwork and character in a religious context.
