Governor Bruce Rauner is announcing $16 million in agriculture grants from the state.
During a stop at Stremsterfer Farms in Pleasant Plains Friday, Rauner unveiled $6 million for soil and water conservation districts around the state, and $5 million for programs through the U of I Extension Service.
In addition, each of the state’s 92 county fairs will receive $54,000 apiece to support their operations.
