Rauner Still Facing Backlash From Legionnaires’ Disease Outbreak

Governor Bruce Rauner is dealing with more headaches stemming from the Legionnaires’ Disease outbreak at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. This time, it’s from Rauner’s own comments that appeared to link the outbreak to “flooding and tornadoes” in the summer of 2015, just before the first cases were detected.

But experts say there’s nothing to link bad weather that summer to the Legionnaires’ outbreak. Democrats accuse Rauner of looking for anyone or anything to blame in order to avoid responsibility for the illnesses that have killed more than a dozen residents of the home and sickened dozens of others.
