Springfield police are investigating the city’s latest shooting death. Officers were called to the 1200 block of East Laurel just after 1am Tuesday for a report of shots fired, and found a male victim with a gunshot wound.
26-year-old Sherman Neal of Springfield was taken to HSHS St. John’s Hospital, where he died a few hours later. Police have not released any information about suspects or a motive, but are asking anyone with information about the crime to call them or Crimestoppers.
