Rauner Rolls Out Five Year Road Plan

A number of Sangamon County projects are included in an $11 billion road plan for the next five years rolled out Tuesday by Governor Bruce Rauner.

$2.2 billion in state and federal dollars are slated to be spent in the upcoming fiscal year… including $3 million to repair bridges on I-55 and 72 at Cook and Clear Lake, and resurfacing projects along Business Loop 55 in Springfield and Sherman.

Projects slated for 2020 to 2024 include $16 million for resurfacing I-55 from Glenarm to the Lake Springfield bridge, and bridge repairs on I-72 at Wabash Avenue.
