State health officials are delivering a message about swimming safety… with a twist. This time, the warning isn’t about the potential for drowning, it’s about the risk of contracting a nasty stomach bug.
The state Public Health Department says if you have diarrhea or have had it in the past two weeks, you should stay out of the water to avoid infecting others.
They also suggest making sure the water is clean… and that you can see the drain at the bottom of the deep end of the pool before getting into the water.
