Illinois’s first couple has moved back in to the Governor’s Mansion. Bruce and Diana Rauner lugged some of their own boxes into the 163-year-old mansion after being forced out for months during a massive renovation project.
Diana Rauner says the privately-funded project will apparently come in just under the $15 million budget. The renovated mansion… with repairs addressing years of neglect and now ADA-compliant for the first time… will be re-opened to the public at a special event planned for July 14th .
