Cullerton Gives Advice to Missouri Senate President

As Missouri lawmakers gear up for a possible impeachment trial for that state’s governor, they’re getting a little advice from Illinois Senate President John Cullerton. Cullerton presided over the Senate during the impeachment trial that led to Rod Blagojevich’s removal from office.

Cullerton tells the Chicago Tribune that he’s the only sitting Senate president in the country with experience in such a situation, so he talked to his GOP counterpart in Missouri on the best way to handle it… including keeping it as bipartisan as possible and taking steps to eliminate grandstanding by lawmakers hoping to make a name for themselves.
