An Illinois congresswoman is calling out pharmaceutical companies… accusing them of cashing in on the opioid epidemic on the front end and on the back end.
Democrat Jan Schakowsky says drug companies got rich supplying highly addictive opioid painkillers, and doing very little to raise red flags when usage rates of the drugs got out of hand.
And now she says some of the same companies are making a killing off of soaring prices for Narcan, the drug used by first responders to counteract opioid overdoses.
