A state agency is pushing back against claims that computer glitches are kicking thousands of Medicaid and other welfare recipients off of state programs. The Department of Human Services acknowledges that there have been some problems as it sought to automate the system for determining eligibility… a system that previously had been done “manually.”
But the department insists that it is correcting problems as they arise, and says system performance is getting better.
DHS did not take part in a legislative hearing on the issue this week, but the department says it was only given one business day’s notice.
