Illinois lawmakers want answers as to why thousands of people have been booted off programs to provide food stamps or medical assistance for the poor but Rauner administration officials declined an invitation to appear at a legislative hearing Monday.
Democratic Representative Greg Harris says an expensive IT upgrade appears to be accidentally removing eligible people from the rolls but questions whether there are “other motives” involved.
