Illinois State Fairgrounds Makes List of Endangered Historic Structures in Illinois

The Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield is on a new list of the most endangered historic structures in Illinois.

The non-profit Landmarks Illinois releases its list of endangered landmarks each year… and this year both state fairgrounds, in Springfield and DuQuoin, make the list because of the deterioration of many buildings on the grounds.

The James R. Thompson Center… the massive state government building in downtown Chicago… is also on the list, which this year focuses on structures with ties to Illinois’s Bicentennial and 200 years of state history.
