Attorney General Lisa Madigan has filed suit, accusing a shuttle bus company of discriminating against people based on race and national origin. Madigan’s suit targets Suburban Express… which gives rides to students at the University of Illinois and other schools traveling to the Chicago suburbs or airports.
Her complaint says the company’s owner told staffers to avoid giving coupons and flyers to students who appear not to speak English… and has engaged in offensive stereotypes in online marketing.
She also claims owner Dennis Toeppen has harassed customers who complain, including posting their personal and financial information online. Her suit seeks to put the company out of business.
