The recent spike in pump prices in Springfield has pushed the cost of a gallon of gas to some of its highest levels in nearly three years.
The statewide average price is currently around $2.70 a gallon… the highest it’s been since late summer of 2015.
Prices at many Springfield stations shot up to $2.79 a gallon late last week, but are gradually starting to come down.
