Report: Lottery Keeps Selling Instant Tickets Long After Big Prizes Are Claimed

Every week, thousands of Illinoisans buy instant lottery tickets in hopes of winning a big prize… but in many cases, the tickets are still being sold even though all the top prizes have already been claimed.

The Chicago Tribune reports the state lottery sold three million instant tickets from November to March for games where there were no more major prizes still available.

The lottery declined to comment on the Tribune report.
