Health Officials Expand Warning About Romaine Lettuce

State and federal health officials are expanding their warning about possibly-contaminated romaine lettuce.

They now say you should avoid all romaine lettuce… including chopped, whole heads, and hearts of romaine… unless you know for sure it did not come from the Yuma, Arizona growing area.

Romaine from Yuma has been linked to more than 50 cases of E. coli in 16 states, including one in Illinois. If you have romaine lettuce in your fridge and don’t know where it came from, throw it out. Restaurants are also being advised not to serve it unless they know for sure that it didn’t come from the Yuma area.
