City Water Light and Power is warning of a scam that appears to be targeting churches.
A caller says he’s from the utility and threatens to cut off electrical service within minutes unless immediate payment is made. CWLP says it never cuts off power in that way.
If you get a call like that, hang up and then call CWLP at its listed number.
