The race for Illinois Governor is getting a bit more crowded. State Senator Sam McCann says he is entering the race as a third-party candidate.
McCann says he will run on a Conservative Party ticket with combat veteran Aaron Merreighn of Riverton. McCann has frequently clashed with Republican Governor Bruce Rauner… and says he is the only candidate for governor who has stood up to both Rauner and House Speaker Mike Madigan.
Although McCann remains a state senator, he has resigned as a member of the Senate Republican Caucus.
