The head of Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport says he considers a “60 Minutes” report on problems at Allegiant Airlines to be “old news” and not representative of the company’s current performance.
Mark Hanna says most of the maintenance problems outlined in the report deal with the airline’s older MD-80 planes. But in Springfield, Allegiant has upgraded all of its flights to more modern Airbus planes.
And Hanna says Allegiant has a good on-time record locally, with no unusual number of maintenance-related delays.
