Rauner Administration Gives Cost of Possible New Veterans Home in Quincy

The Rauner administration has delivered a preliminary price tag for a new facility on the site of the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. WCIA-TV reports documents were delivered to a legislative task force last week that say it could cost $265 million to build a new residential home.

The facility would have all new plumbing that bypasses existing systems, and includes an alternative water source.

It also includes money to buy and renovate an off-site facility to house those residents during a construction process that could last four to five years.
