The discovery of a body in a Springfield alley has turned out to be the city’s latest homicide.
The coroner’s office identifies the victim as 20-year-old Matthew Greer-Blakey of Springfield, and says he died of a gunshot wound consistent with a homicide.
He was found in an alley off the 1000 block of Henrietta Street Friday morning. Residents in the area say they heard what sounded like gunshots Thursday night. The case is still under investigation.
