Springfield Mayor Jim Langfelder has named his choice to be the city’s next fire chief. Allen Reyne has been with the department since 1999 and says his new appointment will mark the first time in his career that he hasn’t had to work 24-hour shifts.
Reyne says he will continue department initiatives like firefighter training in EMS skills… and says his immediate goals are to improve internal communications and fill staff positions left vacant by retirements.
