It could be a long summer if you’re traveling on Interstate 55 at night. The Illinois Department of Transportation will begin nighttime road work on Monday, April 9th , for patching and paving from Stevenson Drive to Southwind Road, as well as the ramps at Stevenson Drive and the I-55/I-72 interchange.
Expect one lane to be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Fridays through Sundays. All lanes will be open during peak traffic times. The work will continue through the fall.
