A team of elementary and middle schoolers from Springfield and Williamsville will compete at the FIRST Lego League World Festival next month in Detroit. The students range from 4th to 8th Grade and come from Iles Elementary School, Franklin Middle School, and Williamsville Junior High School.
The team calls itself “These Are The Droids You Are Looking For.” It won two state competitions to earn their slot competing against 100 other teams at the World Festival.
Their project uses LEGO robotics to devise a showerhead that can conserve water while it’s warming up to the proper temperature, and alert people when the shower is ready for use.
