A Springfield woman has died in an accident on Interstate 72 linked to slick road conditions Saturday night.
The Macon County Coroner says 63-year-old Vicki Gardner and another person were eastbound on I-72 near Argenta when their car slid off the road and into the median.
They got out of the car and were approaching the roadway when a passenger bus also slid on the ice, crashed through the guardrail and struck Gardner, killing her. The bus driver was cited for driving too fast for conditions and improper lane usage.
