The man accused of shooting three people in Taylorville early Monday has died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Lee Kennedy died Tuesday at Memorial Medical Center, the day after he turned his gun on himself as police closed in on him after a 12-hour manhunt.

Kennedy had been wanted in connection with the shootings of three people, including Kennedy’s 13-year-old daughter, in a home in Taylorville. All three of those victims are expected to recover. An autopsy on Kennedy will be performed Thursday in Springfield.
